Late sirens and burning warehouses: Kyiv survives another midnight ballistic wake-up call

Original version ·

Just when you thought you might get a full night of sleep, Russia decided to send some ballistic missiles to Kyiv, reminding everyone that gravity and air defenses are a package deal.

It was a quick but very loud affair. Just over an hour of pure chaos. This time, the alert system decided to play hard to get, and the air raid sirens went off after the first explosions shook the windows. Because why give anyone a head start when we can test our adrenaline reflexes instead?

The fallout is pretty classic: warehouse fires in the Desnianskyi district, a non-residential building burning in Sviatoshynskyi, and some shattered nerves. Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed two people were injured, with one ending up in the hospital.

It’s almost impressive how fast ballistic missiles can ruin a perfectly good night. Nothing says morning quite like sweepers cleaning up glass before the daily commute.
