5 dead as Russian attack hits Kyiv church and film studio
So, Russia decided to throw everything they had at the capital, and while air defense pulled off miracles, mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed the aftermath is heavy.
The numbers from last night are just stupid. Air defense had to deal with a swarm of 50 missiles and 582 drones. Let that sink in for a second—almost six hundred flying bombs aimed mostly at one city.
Sadly, even miracles have limits. The death toll in the capital has risen to five after a severely injured woman passed away in the hospital. Dozens of others are wounded, including children and a pregnant woman.
And then there are the "tactical military targets." Kyiv bore the brunt of a massive wave of 50 missiles and over 580 drones, leaving five dead and historic landmarks in flames. The attack managed to set fire to the ancient Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, wreck parts of the historic Dovzhenko Film Studios, and even damage the High Anti-Corruption Court building.
Demilitarizing movie sets and centuries-old monasteries is certainly a bold strategy for a self-proclaimed superpower.
