Russian Attack Hits Kyiv High-Rise, Coffee Shop, and School

Original version ·

Another round of ballistic strikes in Kyiv left four dead, dozens injured, and burnt through eight floors of an ordinary apartment block.

The overnight barrage tore through ordinary civilian neighborhoods across Kyiv. In the Desnianskyi district, a 9-story residential building caught fire from the ground floor up to the eighth, killing three women and leaving nineteen wounded, including a seven-year-old girl.

Another strike in the Holosiivskyi district claimed another life. Beyond homes, the missile fragments and blasts shattered a primary school, a public library, a sports stadium, and a neighborhood coffee shop. The definition of a strategic military objective apparently still includes an apartment bedroom and a local espresso bar.

Emergency blackouts promptly knocked out power across five districts as rescue crews dug through the rubble.

Spending millions of dollars in ballistic weaponry to blow up a library and a bakery remains a peculiar military strategy.
