Explosions in central Kyiv as air defense tackles another drone swarm

Central Kyiv was shaken awake by heavy air defense fire as interceptors scrambled to take down incoming drones right over downtown.

Another night, another swarm of hostile drones buzzing into Ukrainian airspace. This time the targets drifted straight toward downtown Kyiv, triggering instant fire from mobile defense units across the city.

Interceptors and mobile teams were actively hunting down hostile drones right over the capital's center, while mayor Vitaliy Klitschko alerted residents on Telegram to head straight to shelters. Across the country, the scale was just as absurd: out of 164 drones launched overnight, defense teams managed to eliminate 137.

A full eight hours of quiet sleep remains the rarest commodity in the city.
