SBI Seizes Illegal Hotel Built in Park by Son of Infamous MSEK Boss
Turns out millions in cash stuffed in mattresses wasn't enough — the family of Khmelnytskyi's ex-medical board boss was also quietly annexing a public park.
Back in 2020, the son of the notorious Tetiana Krupa bought an old disco building right inside a protected central park in Khmelnytskyi. The legal permit only allowed simple renovations without changing the building's designated purpose.
Naturally, that plan went out the window. Instead of a modest touch-up, workers began erecting a massive hotel and restaurant complex, sprawling way past the property line into the municipal park and fencing off public land.
Investigators from the SBI finally pulled the plug, slapping an arrest on the property to freeze construction and preserve it as criminal evidence.
Some people genuinely view property boundaries as optional suggestions.
