Kherson teacher gets life in prison for guiding Russian drones on her own city

Original version ·

A local school teacher decided that grading essays was too boring, so she started moonlighting for Russian military intelligence instead.

She caught the attention of the GRU by leaving pro-Kremlin comments in Telegram chats. Soon enough, she got recruited and turned into a full-time scout.

She would drive around Kherson in her own car, photographing military targets and pinpointing them on Google Maps. The court just handed her a life sentence with confiscation of property. She sent these coordinates directly to a Russian drone unit commander, who used them to launch kamikaze drone strikes on the city she lived and worked in.

When the SBU knocked on her door, they found all the evidence right there on her phone and computer.

Writing Z-comments in local chats is apparently a great way to trade a classroom for a jail cell with no exit date.
