A true legend of TET channel and the front lines is gone

Original version ·

The media world is mourning a man who traded his newsroom desk for the front lines back in 2014 and never really looked back.

Ivan Trembovetskyi wasn't just some guy from TET who decided to play soldier. He was there from the start.

He walked away from the studio to join the 95th Air Assault Brigade back in 2014. He saw everything from the hell of Debaltseve to the defense of the Donetsk Airport. When the full-scale invasion hit, he was back at it again, serving in the GUR and later with drone operators in the 238th Separate Battalion. He was the kind of person who kept going back to the front despite his injuries.

It is wild how someone could be the heart of a newsroom and a hardened combat vet at the same time. His colleagues say he was the one who could make any storm disappear just by being there. Ivan Trembovetskyi is gone at 43, leaving behind a legacy that most people only talk about in movies.
