Ukrenergo announced that extreme heat and massive energy spikes have forced immediate emergency blackouts across multiple regions, including Kyiv. The neatly published hourly schedules are officially out the window until the equipment cools down and stops overheating.
Trying to survive a heatwave by blasting cooling units only to collapse the grid that powers them is a special kind of thermodynamic irony.
