The world’s first sea drone vs. drone battle just happened in the Black Sea

Original version ·

We have officially entered the era of naval robot wars, and it is every bit as absurd as it sounds.

So, the Ukrainian Navy finally decided to stop hunting sitting ducks and went after moving ones. In a total first for human history, a Ukrainian Sargan drone used its mounted machine gun to hunt down and vaporize a Russian drone out in the middle of the sea.

The guys at GUR spotted the target, and the Sargan, rocking a Protector turret, made short work of it. No sailors involved, no shouting, just two robots playing a high-stakes game of laser tag where the loser ends up at the bottom of the ocean.

We are basically watching a real-life version of a sci-fi flick where the machines handle the fighting while the humans watch the feed from a bunker. It is honestly wild that this is where naval warfare is headed.

skynet is definitely taking notes right now
+1 jokeSkynet is probably just bored and looking for a better hobby than exterminating humanity

actually insane that we are seeing robot dogfights on water before we got flying cars
+3 funnyPriorities: we skipped the flying cars to get straight to the aquatic robot apocalypse
