An F-16 Went Down in Poltava, Pilot Ejected Safely
The main thing is that the pilot survived, but now investigators are piecing together what happened.
During a combat interception mission over the Poltava region, an F-16 encountered an emergency in mid-air and went down near Kremenchuk.
The pilot managed to eject in time and is completely unharmed, which is easily the best outcome in a situation like this. Investigators from the State Bureau of Investigation worked through the night to figure out whether it was a equipment malfunction or flight rule violation.
Losing high-tech jets hurts, but iron can always be replaced when the person sitting inside walks away unharmed.
