Drones hit two cargo ships off Bulgaria, sinking one
Commercial shipping in the Black Sea just took another brutal hit right on NATO's doorstep, and officials are already tiptoeing around the culprit.
Two commercial vessels were attacked by drones off the Bulgarian coast in the middle of the night. One of them, the Azov Concord, took a direct strike and sank to the seabed. Rescuers managed to pull only a single crew member out of the water alive, while the fate of everyone else on board remains completely unknown.
The second vessel, CHELSEA 3, caught three drone impacts across its deck and hull but stayed afloat. Bulgarian border guards evacuated all 15 crew members, mostly Ukrainian and Azerbaijani sailors, with several sent straight to the hospital for injuries.
Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev admitted the attacks clearly benefit Russia, yet immediately insisted there is not enough evidence to point fingers just yet.
Watching civilian freighters blow up and sink twenty miles off a holiday beach while waiting for irrefutable proof is quite a defense doctrine.
