Direct mobilization: Join a military unit without visiting TCC
Volunteers in Ukraine can now bypass local recruitment centers entirely and join their chosen unit directly through its commander.
For a long time, joining a specific brigade felt like navigating a bureaucrat's fever dream. A volunteer would get a recommendation letter from a unit, only for local draft offices to ignore it and send them somewhere completely random.
That headache is officially over for volunteers. Under the new mechanism, candidates deal directly with their chosen unit commander, who conducts the interview and sends them straight to the medical board. Once the commander issues that medical referral, draft officers legally cannot touch or forcibly mobilize the candidate for at least five days.
Military commanders now hold the authority to recruit their own people directly without bureaucracy getting in the way.
