Denmark moves to cut temporary protection for Ukrainian men

Denmark has decided to stop handing out automatic residence permits to Ukrainian men aged 23 to 60. Anyone in that bracket looking for asylum will now need official paperwork proving exemption from military service.

No official deferment means no permit. Young guys under 23 can still get status, but the second they turn 23, the legal clock starts ticking and papers are mandatory. The new rules apply to fresh applications, so those who already got protection before the shift won't lose it.
