Ministry of Defense Explains ₴10K Bonus: Mechanics Get It, Vacationers Don't

Original version ·

The Ministry of Defense just broke down how the guaranteed ₴10,000 top-up works for non-combat roles, hospital stays, and time off.

Rear personnel like mechanics are now set to make at least ₴30,000 a month by adding a flat ₴10,000 bonus on top of their baseline pay. The real catch kicks in the moment someone takes regular leave: step away on vacation, and that ₴10,000 bonus disappears for every day spent resting.

Being in the hospital with a normal illness or non-combat injury keeps the extra ₴10,000 intact alongside regular pay. Meanwhile, combat wounded undergoing inpatient care still receive the standard ₴100,000 monthly bonus, as long as the medical board files the right form.

Taking a lawful vacation in uniform officially turns out to be a pricey luxury where every day off is docked right down to the hryvnia.
