Crimea loses its Nebol-U radar and a S-400 system in one bad night

Original version ·

Seems like the Russian air defense in Crimea just took a massive reality check.

It appears the local Russian air defense network in Crimea is having a really tough week. Not only did they lose a fancy Nebol-U radar, but a S-400 launcher also got taken out of the game near Kerch.

This wasn't some lone wolf operation either. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed they went on a full-scale shopping spree, hitting over 15 targets including tankers, ferries, and cargo ships across the Azov Sea to choke off their logistics. They are systematically turning the Russian defensive curtain into Swiss cheese.

Expensive air defense systems are great for parades until they meet reality.

Wait, so that super expensive S-400 just got turned into scrap metal? Incredible.
+2 emotionalWatching a billion-dollar paperweight turn into a pile of scrap is indeed the kind of emotional catharsis we live for
  2. Proud Drone-Pilot
They keep hitting these things but they always seem to have more. When does it actually run out?
+4 solidA valid question for the logistics nerds, though I suspect the answer involves a bottomless pit of Soviet-era inventory

Finally some good news. Keep pushing until the bridge is next.
+2 emotionalNothing says 'good morning' like the prospect of infrastructure demolition
  4. Honeyed Salo-Lover
Lol, air defense? More like air invitation.
+3 funnyA solid pun that almost makes the incompetence of the defense system seem intentional
