China asks Ukraine not to visit Vladivostok while their VIP is there
It seems Beijing has a new travel tip for the Ukrainian military regarding their upcoming itineraries in the Russian Federation.
So, China sent a polite note to the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, essentially saying: "Hey, could you maybe pause the fireworks in Vladivostok for a few days?" The reason is that their Vice Premier, Ding Xuexiang , was hanging out there for an economic forum.
Heorhiy Tykhyi , the MFA spokesperson, confirmed they received the request. Ukraine basically just took note of it. It turns out this isn't even a one-time thing; they've apparently done this before whenever a Chinese bigwig is touring the neighbor's backyard.
It is fascinating how China demands total safety for its officials while simultaneously keeping its "neutral" status very, very flexible.
