Russia's ballistic wake-up call for Kyiv
Another night, another massive aerial cocktail from Russia, but the ballistic half is the part that really stings.
So, Russia decided to make everyone in Ukraine stay up late with a mix of 120 drones and a dozen missiles. Most of the drones got shredded, but the ballistic missiles? They walked right through. That is the part everyone is currently sweating about.
It is not just about the noise or the broken windows in Kyiv or the damage in other regions—it is the reality check that our current tech stack for defense has holes. Volodymyr Zelenskyy is now pushing hard for those NATO partners to stop dragging their feet on the Patriot licenses and the joint anti-ballistic project they all talked about at the summit. Apparently, empty promises do not stop hypersonic incoming fire.
Expensive hardware in the sky does not matter much if the ground is still getting hit by the stuff that travels too fast to catch.
