Assassination plot against Khartia commander Obolenskyi fails

Someone tried to hit Khartia commander Ihor Obolenskyi, but security forces caught the suspects red-handed.

The hitman and his accomplice didn't even get a chance to act properly before getting cuffed. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed he already spoke with Obolenskyi right after intelligence brass briefed him on the operation.

Both suspects were nabbed instantly while trying to organize the attack. Official details remain brief, but Kyiv promised a direct response to the targeted hit.

Trying to execute targeted assassinations in Ukraine continues to be one of the fastest ways to get a lifetime prison sentence.
