Death toll from the Russia missile strike on Kyiv arms show hits 11

Original version ·

Holding a public gathering for weapons in the middle of a war turns out to be exactly as bad an idea as it sounds.

The tragic tally continues to climb as another victim passed away in the hospital. The latest person to succumb to injuries was a 66-year-old diplomat from the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.

It is genuinely baffling how anyone thought hosting a public weapons expo in the Kyiv region right now was a good idea. Volodymyr Zelenskyy Zelenskyy himself pointed out that this event simply should not have existed. While the state is rightfully going after the organizers with a criminal case for negligence, the damage is already done.

It turns out that gathering crowds of people to look at guns while under the constant threat of ballistic missiles is a recipe for disaster.

Common sense is apparently the rarest weapon of all.
