Air Defense downs 524 targets as Russia throws 570 missiles and drones at Kyiv
Russia unleashed a massive 570-target aerial barrage overnight, trying to overwhelm Kyiv by sheer brute force.
The tactic was pure exhaustion: launch nearly 500 strike drones and decoys alongside 74 missiles from virtually every direction at once, hoping the radar screens simply melt.
Ukrainian air defenders managed to eliminate 524 incoming threats — 48 missiles and 476 drones. Cruise missiles and flying lawnmowers were wiped out almost entirely across the board.
The dark math showed up where physics gets brutal. Ballistic missiles and hypersonic targets remain the hardest to counter when fired in mass salvos, slipping through to strike locations in the capital.
Firing hundreds of cheap decoys just to sneak a dozen ballistic warheads past the defenses is essentially warfare by brute-force spam.
